Black Millionaire Entrepreneurs And Leaders Tell All

It’s no secret that our economy isn’t doing well. I read somewhere recently that the unemployment rates in the US are currently at a 16-year high of 7.2 per cent. Things will (hopefully) get better soon but what about now? I know many of us are looking at career changes and sometimes even wonder if starting a business would be a smart choice.
I’m no expert honestly so I wouldn’t be able to give you business advice. But sometimes we need a inspiration and motivation more than we need advice. So I was searching online to see if successful black people had any particular secrets of success.
That’s when I found these two ebooks. The first is called Conversations with Black Millionaire Entrepreneurs by Bro. Bedford. The second is Success In A Challenging World by Corey Crowder and Andrew Nietlich.
Conversations with Black Millionaire Entrepreneurs is a book of interviews with some of the most successful black entrepreneurs. Bro. Bedford says entrepreneurship is the solution to rising unemployment, especially in the black community. He believes our community has limited exposure and resources and hopes the book will help educate and inspire aspiring black entrepreneurs.
Some of the interviewees in Bedford’s book include:
- Randal Pinkett, Winner of Apprentice 4
- Ephren Taylor, the youngest African-American CEO of a publicly traded company
- Cathy Hughes of Radio One Inc.,
- Dennis Kimbro, author of ‘Think and Grow Rich: A Black Choice’
And some others as well. It also features a Foreword by Bob Johnson.
Success In A Challenging World is also a book if interviews but also has summaries of inspirational and entrepreneurial advice. 24 African-American leaders are interviewed about the story of their success.
Some of the interviewees in this book include:
- Dr. Farrah Gray, multimillionaire entrepreneur
- Dr. Peter Delfyett, physicist
- Alonzo Williams, hip hop music producer
- William Mays, CEO of Mays Chemicals
And 20 other prominent African-American leaders as well.
Bedford’s book is available for about $20, while Crowder and Nietlich’s interviews are currently available as a free ebook. Honestly, I haven’t had a chance to read either yet but they do sound interesting. If any of you have read them, do let me know if they’re any good.
