Kanye West: The Voice of This Generation? Maybe Not!

So, Kanye West is back to reclaim his title of ‘Mr. I’m-In-Love-With-Myself’, because the crown of “Voice of the Generation” definitely doesn’t fit his big head! Kanye fans, I’m sorry if I’m offending you! I have nothing against the guy’s music but seriously, he needs to grow a brain and yeah, get some perspective too while he’s at it.

Yahoo! Music News says “Kanye West is to music what Michael Jordan is to basketball.” No, Yahoo! hasn’t turned fortune teller, it’s merely reporting Kanye’s comments. Here’s his latest:

"I realize that my place and position in history is that I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice," he said in an interview on Wednesday. "It's me settling into that position of just really accepting that it's one thing to say you want to do it and it's another thing to really end up being like Michael Jordan."

And he didn’t stop there! “There were people who had the potential to do it but they went on vacation, so when Justin [Timberlake] went on vacation I made albums," he said. "And it just came out to be that.”

Also don’t forget his continued battle with MTV. He claimed this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards were rigged. “I won nothing last year and I'd brought out Stronger. Then this year, just because I was there, I won best urban act," he told the Sun newspaper. "This was Lil Wayne's year." Read more here. Earlier in his career he was mad at MTV when his video didn’t win! Make up your mind Kanye, do you or do you not like to win?

He also made rules for black slang so that white people could use them without sounding like wannabe-Blacks. Really Kanye, how much time do you actually spend thinking things through before saying them out loud?

Everyone’s making a pretty big deal about his change of style and how he’s not rapping as much on his new album. By the time this post gets published on the blog, ‘808s and Heartbreak’ will have released, and with it maybe a few more memorable quotes from ‘The King’. I’m not buying the album but I’d like to hear what you guys think of it and of Kanye of course!
